USTA South Carolina Summer Interns

We are excited to have three summer interns to help us grow the game of tennis in our various departments.  Learn more about these three young ladies:

My name is Rachel Murrah; I am a rising senior at the University of South Carolina. At USC-Columbia I am majoring in advertising with a minor in photography. With this internship I hope to gain great hands-on experience. I am excited for the opportunity to work with USTA South Carolina and want to put the skills I’ve learned through school into practice.

Hello! My name is Alexandria Howard.  I am originally from Columbia, SC. My passion for athletics led me to pursue an undergraduate degree in Exercise and Sport Science at The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where I graduated in 2008. Despite being a loyal Tar Heel fan, I am currently pursuing a master’s degree in Sport and Entertainment Management at the University of South Carolina.  I am very excited to work with USTA as the Junior Team Tennis/Community Development intern this summer.  As the JTT intern, I hope to gain knowledge and experience in the areas of community development and junior programs.  Furthermore, I expect to learn valuable skills that will be useful in my future pursuit of a career in sport management.  I look forward to assisting on projects and working events that will help to promote and develop the growth of tennis in South Carolina!

Hi my name is Chandler Consonery and I am a competition intern at USTA South Carolina. I grew up in Greenville, SC and I started playing tennis at the age of 10. Now I attend Duquesne University in Pittsburgh, PA where I play Division I tennis. I am going to be a junior this fall and I’m majoring in Public Relations. I hope to gain valuable experience of what it is like to work with the competition side of USTA and am very excited to be involved with USTA SC this summer!
