Marketing Grants

CTA Engagement Grant: This grant will provide funds for new and innovative ideas to keep first year members engaged beyond their initial year. Maybe you have a new idea you want to try out, but don’t quite know where you will get your funds. This is your chance! We are looking for something more than just a typical end of the year social. We want something that will make these new members feel connected to their teammates, their CTA and the USTA, while turning them into recurring annual USTA participants and members. Applicants must be CTAs and may request up to $1000 to bring their idea to life. Contact Sheryl McAlister ( with questions. Applications must be submitted via this online form by May 15, 2015.

Local Marketing Grant: The purpose of the USTA South Carolina Local Marketing Grant is to provide funding to more effectively market/promote your program or advance your long-term goals. Typically special events or tournaments are not eligible, but if the requested funding is used to promote a long-range goal or a specific program, they will be considered. An example is the promotion of a 10 and Under tennis festival as part of a long-range goal to grow 10 and Under programming at the facility.
All submitted applications with a strategy to grow participation and/or USTA membership will be considered. Examples of programs to use this grant include USTA Leagues, Flex League, Jr. Team Tennis, Beginner Lesson Clinics – all ideas that bring more players into the game through a multi-week format are encouraged. Click here for the application.

Tennis on Campus: The purpose of this grant is to provide funding for new or expanding club teams and recreational leagues held on a college campus. The funds are intended to be primarily used for advertising or marketing expenses that will be incurred when promoting the program. Grant awards will typically be a maximum of $10 per participant for new programs or a maximum of $10 per additional participant for expanding programs. This is an open ended application while funds last.

Contact Sheryl McAlister with questions or to submit an application. Both State and Section funds are available using this one application. Click here to complete the application.

Community Growth & Participation Grant – The Community Growth & Participation Grants were created to increase participation in USTA programs and strengthen the bond between local tennis organizations and the USTA (at both the State and Section levels). This is an annual, renewable grant that allows eligible CTAs to re-apply each year. Awarded grants are to be used for the growth of tennis programs, with an emphasis on the promotion and operation of USTA programs. The 2016 Community Growth & Participation Grant deadline has passed.
