Ray Yost, Erie, Pa recently acquired the business of Spring Break Tennis at Hilton Head, Island from the previous owners, Dennis and Carol Malick, of Hilton Head. The Malicks began the business over 17 years ago and have seen it flourish to over 250 college and high school teams annually that visit the Island for their Spring Breaks. Yost, an Indoor Club Owner and Coach Of the Mercyhurst College Men's & Women's teams in Erie, has an extensive background in tennis and is noted for his outstanding organizational and promotional abilities.

During the months of March & April teams from throughout the country migrate to Hilton Head for match play and practices. Teams form Oregon, North Dakota, and Kansas visit each year as well as many East Coast Schools. Yost has developed a new web site that has organized and made the work much easier for coaches wishing to attend. The website must be brought up on Internet Explorer, the site is:

Yost, says the key is for those coaches that are interested is to go to the web site and register their teams, this lets the other coaches know who is interested and then the process of arranging matches begins. Each Coach determines those teams they would like to play, sends in the "Match Request Form"  and Yost then adds them to the schedule. "This year our primarily focus is to get the web site up and running and complete a year of operations as close to the methods used by Malick.  We will make some new additions of course, such as sponsor nights on the beach, score cards, monitoring of the sites, and the addition of Bacon Park, a beautiful facility in Savannah, Georgia. "

Besides a match and practice mirage, the Island is a good place for High School seniors and parents to visit to watch teams in action and speak to coaches of colleges they may be interested in. March is loaded with College action, while April dies down a  little and High School teams are prevalent.

All  a coach's needs are available on the web site; official lodging partners, auto rentals, merchandise, and weekly exhibitions. Yost, states that his goal is to make the teams' Spring Break as enjoyable as possible, while getting a good diet of tennis."
