JTT Championships - Saturday Wrap-up

8 & Under Jr. Team Tennis
USTA Jr. Team Tennis State Championships continued Saturday at the Dr. Eddie Floyd Florence Tennis Center. Two advanced teams won their division, while remaining champions will be decided Sunday afternoon.
The Riverside Aces, coached by Heike Kamieniecki and Jennifer Pitts, won the 12U-advanced division. Players on the Riverside Aces were Timothy Pitts, Sebastian Kamieniecki, Brolin Dorsey, Christopher Johns, Day Nuckolls, Taylor Roberts, Abigail Bragg and Annabelle Kleinfeldt.
The Lexington HS team, coached by Jonny Thompson and Eric Jackson, won the 18U-advanced division. Players on the Lexington HS team were Thomas Bryan, Logan Adkins, Mark Carnes, Grayson Hill, Savanna Fuller, Katie Thompson, Amy Lance, Isabelle Cooper and Abby Cooper.
8 & Under teams played and wrapped up around noon with each player receiving a tournament metal. The 8 & Under players play on smaller courts, use the modified equipment and scoring formats of 10 & Under Tennis. 
USTA South Carolina provided lunch from Firehouse subs for players, coaches and volunteers.  Teams were also encouraged to decorate cars, perform cheers and show team spirit for the Spirit Award, which was won by the Topspin Tsunamis. The Florence Tennis Association provided dinner to volunteers and staff.
Players also got to enjoy Tennis Extravaganza, which included a bounce house, water slide, tennis games and a snow cone machine.
The day began with matches starting at 9:00am and ended with final matches beginning around 5:00pm. Matches will continue Sunday with championship matches starting at 8:00am.
The tournament will wrap-up tomorrow with final matches starting at 1:30 p.m. The teams that win their division championships will advance to sectionals in Auburn, AL.
