New USTA SC Manager of Junior Programs

USTA South Carolina is excited to welcome Rashawn Nelson as its new Manager of Junior Programs.RNelsonPic

Rashawn will serve players, parents and organizers by promoting and managing the following USTA programs: Jr. Team Tennis, School Tennis, National Junior Tennis & Learning, 10 & Under Tennis, and sanctioned tournaments.

He has experience with tennis.

After growing up in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, Rashawn played tennis for two years at Claflin University in Orangeburg. He graduated from Claflin in 2007 with a degree in sport management. During college, he also interned at the Family Circle Cup in Charleston.

Rashawn then pursued a master’s degree in sports administration and facility management from Ohio University, where he graduated in 2009.

Since then, Rashawn has worked at the City of Greenville Parks and Recreation Department and Paine College in Augusta, Ga. Most recently, he was a Recreation Specialist at the City of Charleston Department of Recreation.
