South Carolina had a strong showing at the 2013 USTA Southern Mixed Doubles Sectional Championships as two of its teams were crowned champions.
The teams from the Palmetto State won titles in the two highest levels of the tournament, the 18 & Over 10.0 and the 40 & Over 9.0. Another South Carolina team finished as finalists in the 40 & Over 6.0 category.
The winning 18 & Over and 40 & Over teams have been invited to the USTA Mixed Doubles National Championships to represent USTA Southern, the largest of the 17 USTA sections. Mixed doubles 18 & Over 2.5, 7.0 and 9.0 will compete in Tucson, Ariz., Nov. 15-17. The 6.0, 8.0 and 10.0 will compete in Tucson, Nov. 22-24. The Senior Mixed Invitationals is scheduled for April 11-13, 2014, in Maui, Hawaii, for 40 & Over teams.
