HILTON HEAD ISLAND SC (TENNIS E-News) -- Jolene Watanabe-Giltz of Bluffton won the Women's 35 singles title Sunday at the USTA National Hard Court Championships in Folsom CA, defeating the #1 and #2 seeded players along the way.

Seeded #3, Watanabe-Giltz upset top-seeded Renata Marcinkowska of Rock Hill SC 6-4, 6-1 in the Saturday semifinals. She then defeated #2 seed Jenny Dawson of Carlsbad CA 6-7(2), 6-3, 6-4 for the championship.  In earlier rounds, the Blufftonian won over players from San Rafael CA and Citrus Heights CA.
