Tennis coordinators, coaches, and volunteers from around South Carolina gathered in sunny Charleston, SC last weekend to learn more about USTA QuickStart Tennis. The on-court tennis workshop was held at the Charleston Tennis Center on Saturday, April 26. It was led by nationally certified USTA QuickStart trainer Mike Carter from Austin, Texas. On hand from the USTA staff was Maggie LaCoste, Graham Cox, and Michelle Campanella. With over 30 participants, the workshop was a great success.
QuickStart Tennis is an exciting new play format for learning tennis, designed to bring kids into the game by utilizing specialized equipment, shorter court dimensions and modified scoring, all tailored to age and size. It is divided into two different levels-- ages 8 and under and ages 10 and under. It's the fast, fun way to get kids into tennis-- and keep them playing.
