Tickets Available to the Public Starting April 7th
CHARLESTON SC - 2003 US Open Champion Andy Roddick and the ATP World No. 1 doubles team Bob and Mike Bryan will headline the Charleston All-American Tennis Shootout Wednesday, May 3, at 7 p.m. at Family Circle Tennis Center.
In addition to Roddick and Bob and Mike Bryan, ATP Tour star Paul Goldstein will join the All-American line-up. Goldstein, winner of the NCAA Triple Crown at Stanford, is one of the most respected players on the ATP Tour. His career victories include wins over Greg Rusedski, Xavier Malisse, and Alex Corretja. In 2006, Paul has reached the singles semifinals in Las Vegas and the doubles semifinals in San Jose. Just recently, he extended former World No. 1 Lleyton Hewitt to three sets at Indian Wells.
Leading off the All-American Tennis Shootout will be three tie-breakers featuring players representing Clemson, University of South Carolina, The Citadel, College of Charleston and the Charleston Professional Tennis League (CPTL). Perhaps one of the most interesting matches of the evening will be the “Battle of the Brothers” featuring Andy and John Roddick vs. Bob and Mike Bryan.
“I’m excited to return to Charleston,” said Roddick. “We all had a great time during our 2004 Davis Cup semifinal against Belarus. The community really supported our team, and we look forward to bringing world-class men’s tennis back to Charleston.”
