Two USTA South Carolina staff members are "moving up" in the USTA corporate family and two new people join the USTA South Carolina staff team.

Rebecca McPheeIt is with very mixed emotions that we announce that Rebecca McPhee, Director of Competition and Marketing, is leaving her staff position with USTA SC to take the position of Events Manager with the USTA Southern Section office. Her official start date in Norcross, GA is April 17th.

Becky worked for USTA SC for nearly 3 years and handled a variety of duties, including organizing and planning the state association's annual conferences, media and public relations, supervising and assisting in the hiring of interns and support staff, training of tournament directors and supplying tournament information for players and parents. Becky reports "it is incredible how lucky I am to work in a field that I am so passionate about with volunteers and mentors that are working hard towards the same goal. Although I will miss everyone in South Carolina, I am so excited to begin working with the Southern tennis family!"

A 2003 graduate of the University of South Carolina, McPhee garnered a BA degree in Mass Communications, with a concentration in public relations. She also earned a minor in Government & International Studies. In 2005 McPhee later completed Graduate Certificate program in Meeting and Event Planning at the University of North Carolina.

MichelleMichelle Campanella joined the staff of USTA SC last fall and has already proved herself to be a key member of the "team" in the role of Executive Assistant. She comes to us from her former home in Ohio with a strong working background that entails a full spectrum of positions in her 15 year work history. She began her career as an entry level customer service representative and worked her way through a series of promotions to become a supervisor. She was a small business owner for several years, owning her own children's apparel store, and then worked as a Marketing Coordinator in her last position of 3 years, where her duties ranged from office administration to sales support and various marketing duties. Her diverse background in business helps her in her multi-faceted role with USTA SC where her position includes assisting in office management, customer/player services, annual meeting planning and volunteer coordination. She lives in Irmo with her husband Benny, son Ryan and three daughters Madison, Morgan and Macey.

She is a USTA Certified Provisional Tennis Official and Referee, a USTA League Tennis player and captain who has played on State, Sectional and National Championship Teams, and a JTL of Columbia and USA Team Tennis coach and volunteer. She began her training on April 3. She has recently moved to Columbia with her husband, Johnny, and son, Michael.
