Will Guzick wins Southern Section Junior Achievement Award

January 25, 2007 02:57 PM
USTA SC is proud to congratulate William (Will) Guzick for winning the DeWitt Redgrave Junior Achievement Award. The award is designed to recognize juniors who demonstrate exceptional sportsmanship and performance on the court. The award was presented at the USTA Southern Section Annual Meeting in Atlanta GA.
This is far from the first award Will has won and USTA SC is excited to see another one of its junior players recognized. The press release sent out by the USTA Southern Section summed up all there was to say about Will. "William Guzick knows the value of hard work and perseverance. With a tremendous junior tennis career behind him, William has a proven ability to accomplish whatever task is set before him. Ranked as high as No. 5 in the nation, this well rounded young man has several noteworthy accomplishments under his belt. Touting a 4.0 GPA, this “straight A” student scored a perfect 1600 on the SAT exam. His stellar grades and exceptional athletic ability has secured Guzick a spot on the Harvard University Men’s Tennis team in 2007."
Will GWill is just one of several South Carolina tennis players to be recognized on a Sectional and National stage for their performance. Bonnie Sue Duncan received the Eve Craft award for her volunteer work, and the Roy Barth Family received USTA Family of the Year. We congratulate all of our award winners and we look forward to more to come in 2007.
