Tennis Block Party on Daniel Island

August 8, 2007 05:02 PM
The Family Circle Tennis Center, will host a Tennis Block Party presented by The Daniel Island News from 9:00am to noon on Saturday, August 18th to showcase the many tennis programs available for the whole family, and to kick off the fall Junior and Adult Tennis Program session. Growing the game of tennis has always been a top priority for the Family Circle Tennis Center, and this United States Tennis Association (USTA) backed initiative is a proven catalyst for community growth throughout America’s pubic facilities.
Children and adults will enjoy a morning of free activities featuring music, games, drills, contests, a tennis carnival, “hit & get”, adult tennis zone, raffles, prizes, food, snacks, refreshments, and many other activities planned for this day of tennis fun. This premier USTA event will feature the newest tennis instructional techniques designed to introduce the game of tennis in a fun and easy manner where everyone can quickly pick up the game and succeed at this sport of a lifetime. There’s no registration necessary, and all participants can enjoy a tour of the facility and will be eligible for prizes and giveaways.
“Our commitment to growing the game of tennis at the grass roots level has brought so many new players to this exciting sport since we reorganized our programs one year ago, and we’re happy to celebrate and continue that growth where it all started, with another community block party,” commented Rob Eppelsheimer, Family Circle Tennis Center Director. “Playing tennis is really all about having fun with friends, so we encourage everyone to learn the basics or brush up on some rusty strokes at this free event so they too can enjoy this sport of a lifetime.”
