January 14, 2008 05:00 PM

John Sheffield, the Executive Director of USTA South Carolina, has announced the hiring of two new staff members with our association: Peppers McBeth has accepted the role of  Executive Assistant and Office Supervisor, and Jamie Milan has accepted the part-time position as Administrative Assistant.
Peppers’ primary responsibilities will be to assist the Executive Director in the general administration of the association and to supervise the running of the USTA SC office in Columbia. In addition, she will be the point person on the staff in the planning and administration of the association’s annual meeting and conference, held every December and will serve as the staff liaison to the Awards Committee and other volunteer groups. Peppers is a former high school tennis player and a mother of three, one of whom is presently playing USTA Junior Team Tennis. She is also very active as a volunteer in her church.
Jamie, in her job-sharing role with Paola Maoli, will serve as the primary phone and visitor receptionist at the USTA South Carolina office. She will assist with general office operations and provide administrative support for the Community Development Department. Jamie is in her senior year as an undergraduate at the University of South Carolina, majoring in Public Relations and Event Planning.
Both ladies worked previously for the association in the summer and fall of 2007 as temporary staff and demonstrated their talents and their enthusiasm for the mission of the association. We are excited to have these two great new people on the staff “team.”
