Navratilova & Fernandez Serve Up The "Biggest" Youth Tennis Initiative Ever

Martina Navratilova, the winningest women's tennis champion of all time, and Mary Joe Fernandez, a two-time U.S. Olympic tennis gold medalist and Grand Slam tournament winner, step into the tennis shoes of a child as they battle it out on an oversized tennis court using five-foot long racquets and an oversized tennis ball to simulate what it feels like for a child learning to play tennis. In one of its most significant moves ever to introduce tennis to children, The United States Tennis Association is launching QuickStart Tennis play format, an innovative new play format designed to help kids 10 and younger get into the game.  View the video below to get a sense of how even Grand Slam tournament winners struggle using equipment that is proportionate to what a kid uses when playing with adult equipment, then use this link to see how kids do with QuickStart equipment.
