Upstate Dominates Second Half of Adult Championships

June 6, 2008 01:19 PM

GREENVILLE-- The second half of the adult league state championships were at held at beautful Greenville Country Club this past weekend. State championships for 3.0 and 3.5 men's and women's were up for grabs. After Columbia area teams dominated the first half of state champions, this weekend was ruled by upstate squads. Spartanburg captured the 3.0 men's championship, Greenwood won the 3.5 men's division, and the Upper Piedmont Tennis Association women won the 3.5 women's championship. Lexington also took the championship for 3.0 women.

State champions from 2.5 to 5.0 leagues will take their games to Mobile, Alabama to compete for the USTA Southern Section Championships in July. As always, we congratulate all of our championship teams and look forward to following their journeys to the USTA Southern Sectional Championships and hopefully to the USTA National Championships.
