August 6, 2008 03:01 PM

USTA South Carolina will hold a Recreational QuickStart Tennis Workshop in Lexington on Saturday, September 6th.    This is a FUN way to learn to introduce kids to tennis and a great way to engage new volunteers for your local programs and services!

Jorge Andrew, National QuickStart Trainer, will lead the workshop at the Lexington County Tennis Complex from 9:00 a.m. - 12 p.m.  The registration fee is $10.  In addition to the 3-hour training, participants will receive three different QuickStart Tennis Practice & Play Plans (Ages 5 & 6, 7 & 8 and 9 & 10).  Each of the QuickStart Practice and Play Plan books is 50 pages and regularly retails for $6.

 QuickStart Tennis Workshop
Workshop description: The QuickStart Tennis Workshop is a three hour interactive workshop designed for beginning tennis teachers and coaches working with children ages 10-and-under. Ten workshops will be scheduled across the country in 2008.

These workshops will cover essential information on teaching and coaching young children. Information is age specific and will include warm-up activities, skill development, games and cool down activities.

This is the perfect course for parents wanting direction on coaching their own children and volunteer coaches working with Jr. Team Tennis teams. The importance of using equipment and courts to scale for youngsters will be emphasized.
