Rock Hill "Flexes" It's Tennis Muscle

September 8, 2008 04:46 PM

USTA's new Flex League tennis ladder ran in the Rock Hill area for the first time this summer. Mid-Carolina Tennis Association chose to structure Flex as a singles ladder to provide a program for singles players at the conclusion of spring adult leagues. Facing strong competition from other tennis leagues including another singles ladder, Flex had 32 registrants in the summer session. Feedback on the league was positive, so MCTA is offering a second season this fall. Flex League Coordinator Bill Tasker has done a great job marketing this new program. The fall season now has more than 60 registrants. Participation from the male singles players in the area is especially strong. Fall registration also benefitted from the support of the Rock Hill Tennis Center, which chose to promote Flex in place of their inhouse ladder this season.
