October 29, 2008 05:47 PM

Tennis On Campus States Teams from across the state of South Carolina converged in Charleston, SC on October 25-26 to compete for the USTA Tennis On Campus State Championship. College of Charleston “A” captured the state championship, defeating Clemson “A” in the final round. The College of Charleston “A” team edged USC “A” by just one game to win their division and play for the championship. Heavy rains from Friday delayed the tournament’s start on Saturday, but the ten team field of 75 players finished up on Sunday at the Charleston Tennis Center.

The USTA's Tennis On Campus program is designed to provide college students with opportunities for team camaraderie, social networking, and rivaled competition through tennis without the rigors of a varsity program. Tennis On Campus offers co-ed team-based play with State, Section and National championships.
