Belton Hosts QuickStart Tennis Workshop

March 18, 2009 12:18 PM

Are you ready for Kids Team Tennis?  There’s no doubt that these volunteer coaches for the Belton Kids Team Tennis program are ready.  Approximately Twenty five adults attended a 3-hour QuickStart Workshop.  This workshop is an interactive, on-court training program designed for tennis teachers and parent coaches who will be working with 10 and under youth players at the recreational level.

The Belton Tennis Association organized the workshop for volunteer coaches working with the BTA Kids Team Tennis Program. The Belton Kids Team Tennis program is in its second season and is open for registration now through April 7th. Go to http://tennislink.usta.com/TEAMTENNIS/Main/RegisterPlayers.aspx or contact Lisa Liddle Sigler at 4liddles@charter.net to find out more about the Belton Program. Per Kathleen Maynard, BTA president, “The enthusiasm, participation, and the desire to learn more about Quick Start was bouncing off the walls on Saturday.  Families, tennis professionals, and Belton Tennis Association board members all left eager and ready to begin Quick Start!”

QuickStart Tennis is an exciting new play format for learning tennis, designed to bring kids into the game by utilizing specialized equipment, shorter court dimensions and modified scoring, all tailored to age and size. It is divided into two different levels-- ages 8 and under and ages 10 and under. It's the fast, fun way to get kids into tennis-- and keep them playing. Go to www.quickstarttennis.com to find out more about QuickStart Tennis or contact capanella@sctennis.com to find out how to begin a  Jr. Team Tennis program in your area.
