The Wofford Terriers are currently 3rd in the SoCon after a hard-fought loss to Furman yesterday. The Terriers had won 6/7 SoCon matches entering the contest, but lost 5-2 at Furman. The doubles point was decided 9-7 in the tiebreaking match, and 2/4 matches lost in singles were lost in the 3rd set. Furman improved to 9-0 in the SoCon, and they are currently ranked 69th in the country in tennis.
Wofford completes its regular season in Spartanburg on Saturday at 11:00 AM against Samford, and they can secure a 3rd seed for the Southern Conference Tournament (4/23-4/26 in Elon, NC).
This success on the court was enhanced by the fact that the team was also given the National Sportsmanship Award for March by the ITA.
