St. George QuickStart Workshop Held

A QuickStart Coaches Workshop was hosted by the newly formed St. George Community Tennis Association in St. George, SC on Monday, April 19th. The workshop was held in preparation of the new St. George Jr. Team Tennis program that currently has 30 players registered to begin play April 26th. Eight coaches, including St. George local league coordinator Barbara Jones, attended the training that was conducted by USTA SC deputy director, Graham Cox. Training included demonstrations of the QuickStart format and QuickStart practice plans to prepare coaches for their volunteer role of Jr. Team Tennis coach.

The QuickStart format ( is an exciting new play format for kids ages 6-10 years of age. It is designed to bring kids into the game by utilizing specialized equipment, shorter court dimensions and modified scoring, all tailored to age and size.
