Chris Henderson is in his first year serving on the USTA SC Board of Directors as the Southeast Area Director.  He is currently in medical sales with Integra NeuroSciences. 
A Cape Cod, MA native, Henderson grew up playing in the New England Section where he was ranked as high as #3 in singles, #1 in doubles and #63 Nationally in the Boys 18.
Henderson played his college tennis at Furman University under the tutelage of Paul Scarpa from 1991-1994.  Playing #1 singles and #1 doubles, Henderson led the Paladins to 4 consecutive Southern Conference Championships, as Captain and MVP in 1994. 
Henderson remains very active in tennis, finishing the 2006 year ranked #1 in the Men’s 30’s in South Carolina and Southern rankings, and #5 in singles and #1 in doubles nationally.  He has captained the USTA Southern Open (6.0) team the past 3 years and was a member of the 2003 5.5 national championship team in Las Vegas. 
Henderson is the President and Co-founder of the Charleston Pro Tennis League, Inc. which formed in 2002.  The league consists of former touring professionals, local tennis pros and former college tennis players, who provide entertainment to the Charleston tennis community on Friday nights in the fall.   The CPTL also contributes to promoting tennis in the community, encouraging the underprivileged to get involved in tennis.  The CPTL was the recipient of the 2006 Community Service Award for South Carolina.  
Aside from traditional tennis, Henderson is currently ranked #1 in the Nation in Beach Tennis, a new hybrid sport combining beach volleyball, badminton and tennis.  He and partner Phil Whitesell are 2 time defending national champions and recently won the International Beach Tennis Championships in Aruba. 
He lives in Mount Pleasant, with wife Nicole and 1 year old daughter, Sydney.
