James (Jimmy) L. Sain was elected Secretary in December 2007. In 2007, he served his first year as The State Senior League Coordinator. He has also served as the Upper Piedmont Tennis Association's men's league coordinator since 2000. Jimmy also serves the association on the Long Range Planning Committee, the Executive Committee and as the board liaison for the Adaptive Tennis Committee.

A native of Tennessee, Jimmy began playing tennis at fourteen for his high school tennis team on a dare by his best friend. Bitten by the tennis bug, he has continued to play tennis throughout his life, taking time off for college and starting a career. A league player for more than twenty five years, he has served as captain of teams in both Florence and Greenville, South Carolina, and has played on Adult, Senior, Mixed and Combo teams.

Jimmy attended Presbyterian College in Clinton, SC, from 1971-1974 when he entered the College of Pharmacy at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, SC, where he earned is B.S. degree in 1977. In 1994 he returned to school and was awarded his Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of South Carolina in 1997. He is a Past-President of the South Carolina Pharmacy Association who awarded him with their highest honor, South Carolina's Pharmacist-of- the-Year in 1991. He is also proud to volunteer at the Greenville Free Medical Clinic for indigent patients where he was the first pharmacist to serve on their Board of Directors.

In his spare time, Jimmy raises African Grey parrots at his home aviary and is totally devoted to his "family" of four dogs.
