The USTA SC Junior Player Committee gives youth tennis players a voice!

  • Is your child 12-18 years old?
  • Does your child love tennis?
  • Does your child want to be involved beyond the tennis court helping plan for future innovative play opportunities?
  • Would you like to provide your child with a volunteer experience, and the opportunity to give back to the sport of tennis?

Recreational, competitive, novice and experienced tennis players are encouraged to apply.

USTA SC furthers its mission with the help of volunteer committees that work with the association’s staff members to ensure continued tennis participation.

The USTA SC president appoints all committee chairs and members, who serve a two-year term which will run January 2020 through December 2021. In 2019, committee appointments will be made based on applicant’s skill sets, attributes, areas of interest and experience. All applications will be considered. 

Junior Player Committee members will be encouraged but not required to attend the 2019 Annual Meeting on Hilton Head Island, December 6-8, 2019. There will also be 4-6 meetings and/or conference calls a year. 

Characteristics of Successful Candidates 

The committee appointment process is designed to create a team that possesses the full complement of skills necessary to fulfill the mission, strategic priorities and goals of USTA South Carolina.

The responsibilities of USTA South Carolina Committee Members include:

  • Working with USTA SC staff members to fulfill the goals of the committee and the USTA SC mission
  • Creating and completing a set of goals
  • Participating proactively in committee functions
  • Acting as ambassador and advocate of tennis and USTA SC
  • Donating time and energy to the committee and USTA SC events
  • Helping to shape the future of USTA SC
