Find a Workout You Will Love: USTA League Tennis

Robin White of Charleston has never been a gym rat.

“I do not go out and run,” she said.

But she can’t get enough of running on tennis courts.

“I just love it,” she said of tennis.

This summer, White will play about four times a week on teams in the Lowcountry Tennis Association, the organization that offers U.S. Tennis Association adult leagues in the Charleston area.

On the teams, White will play doubles against players who are around her age and skill level. She also will have fun.

“We just have fun and we win,” she said. “There’s no pressure.”

White is relatively new to tennis. She started playing only three years ago, but is already “addicted” to the sport.

“I can run all daylong on the court,” she said.

To people thinking about playing tennis, White advised, “Just get out there. Get yourself on a team,” she said. “You just stay positive and play.”
