  1. Get Your USTA Number
    1. If you aren’t a USTA member, you’ll need to join by visiting or by calling 1-800-990-8782.
    2. If you already have a USTA membership you can recover your number through the login link on
  2. Access Your USTA Account
    1. If you haven’t played in USTA Leagues or in a USTA tournament in the last two years you’ll need to create an account.
    2. Just visit and either login to your existing account, or create a new account. 
    3. Now that you’ve logged in you should make sure you’re on the leagues home page.
  3. Get Your Rating
    1. If you have played in three years (or players over 60 years of age who have played in two years) years you’ll already have an NTRP rating.
    2. If you haven’t then you’ll need to go through the self rating process.  You can find the link to the self rating questionnaire in the top right hand side of the leagues home page on TennisLink.
    3. BEFORE you self rate you’ll probably want to assess your ability based on the play characteristics provided at each level and watch a video introduction to the NTRP Self-Rating System.
    4. If you do not agree with your self rating, or your current NTRP rating, you can submit an automated appeal.
  4. Get Your Team Number
    1. If you already know what team you want to join, get the team number from your captain.
    2. If you need help finding a team, you can contact your Local League Coordinator.
    3. You can also create your own team by becoming a captain.  To do so, contact your Local League Coordinator.  
  5. Get Registered for Your Team
    1. Once you have your USTA number, an NTRP rating, and your team number, just visit the Register for a Team page on TennisLink and get signed up.
