MCTA participates in "Adopt-a-Unit"

This project began when two of our Mid-Carolina Tennis Association (MCTA) board members attended the national United States Tennis Association community development training. Kim Ozmon and Lissa Johnston stopped by the Adopt-A-Unit booth and spoke to a few of the USTA representatives regarding the program. When they returned from training, they presented the idea to the MCTA and it was a unanimous by the board to follow the mission.
Kim Ozmon states, "What a great way to support our troops by giving both personal items and tennis recreational equipment from the USTA to give them some enjoyment while they are in such a stressful environment."
The MCTA put out the call for support to Rock Hill Tennis Center, Tega Cay Tennis Club and all local USTA tennis players. Within 2 weeks, all personal items such as soap, lip balm, Q-tips, hard candy, etc. were collected and shipped. The MCTA was informed by Kristi Wright with the USTA that tennis equipment had been shipped to Sgt. Jared Musante from North Carolina who is currently serving overseas. The MCTA would like to thank everyone who helped make this project successful.
