34 Tennis teams from across South Carolina traveling to Florence

Over 260 of South Carolina’s top Junior Team Tennis players from across the state will gather this weekend for the 2017 South Carolina JTT State Championships.  The Championships will once again be held at the Dr. Eddie Floyd Tennis Center in Florence, SC.

Junior Team Tennis brings together boys and girls, ages 6 to 18, to play singles, doubles and mixed doubles against other coed teams. JTT is a competitive, level-based environment that promotes individual growth, social growth and life skills.

34 teams advanced to the state championships through local play in one of the 13 Junior Team Tennis leagues in South Carolina. These teams will now compete for the chance to advance to the 2017 USTA Southern Junior Team Tennis Sectional Championships, in Rome, Georgia. From there, 14U and 18U teams will play for the chance to go to the USTA JTT National Championships at the USTA National Campus in Orlando, Florida.

The weekend promises to be a good time with a player party, goody bags, giveaways and a special sportsmanship award recognition for sportsmanship displayed throughout the tournament. The tennis extravaganza, which has become a JTT Championships favorite, will include the hit-and-get competition, water slides, a video game truck and fun for the whole family. The Team Spirit/Social Media Competition is also back this year!
