Approximately 964 tennis players from across the state are expected to participate in the 2017 United States Tennis Association Adult Mixed Doubles League State Championships, which will be held September 29 – October 2, 2017 in Florence, SC. The championships, originally scheduled September 8 – 11, were rescheduled for this weekend due to Hurricane Irma.

The Dr. Eddie Floyd Tennis Center is the official host site of the championships. Florence Country Club, Timrod Park Tennis Courts and Francis Marion University also will host matches.

“I always look forward to great tennis,” said Susan Turner, USTA of SC Mixed Doubles League Coordinator. “I enjoy the excitement, especially from those players who are at the state championships for the first time.”

The four-day event will feature 87 teams from all over the state, including Aiken, Beaufort/Bluffton, Charleston, Columbia, Florence, Greenville, Greenwood, Hilton Head Island, Lexington, Myrtle Beach, Rock Hill, and Spartanburg.

A Player’s Reception held Friday evening is sponsored by The Florence Tennis Association, a volunteer-based affiliate of the USTA.

The Mixed Doubles League State Championship play starts Friday, September 29 and finishes Monday, October 2. For more information about the championships weekend, visit www.sctennis.com/leaguechamps.
