Greene Joins USTA SC

LHG_headshotfor_webUSTA South Carolina is excited to welcome Leigh Hewlett Greene as its new Manager of Membership Growth Initiatives and Community Development. In her new role, Greene will support local tennis providers and organizations, work to grow membership and participation, and recruit and train community tennis leaders.

She also will manage the USTA SC Tennis On Campus program and oversee USTA SC grants, which benefit programs and communities all over the state.

I am excited to expand the reach of the organization in the state,” Greene said. “I look forward to growing tennis in South Carolina by encouraging diverse groups of people to get involved in the sport.”

Greene comes to us from the University of South Carolina, where she served as the coordinator of Parents Programs. There, she managed all forms of communication with the parents of the university’s undergraduate population.

She grew up in Clinton, Miss., and, in 2007, graduated from the University of Mississippi with a bachelor’s degree of business administration in marketing communication. In 2011, she graduated from USC with a master’s degree in social work, focusing on non-profit management and community-and societal-level change.

After graduate school, she joined the South Carolina Governor's School for Science and Mathematics Foundation as the marketing and public relations coordinator.

With USTA SC, Greene also is excited about becoming more personally involved with tennis as well. Her parents taught her how to play, and she played as a teenager. She and her husband, Michael, still play occasionally.

Greene also enjoys spending time with her husband and their rescue dog, Magnolia. Greene also likes to run, travel, hike and participate in all types of exercise. She also loves to read and write.

She starts at USTA SC on Monday, March 3.  You can contact her at greene@sctennis.com.
