WTA legend Venus Williams took the court at the Volvo Car Stadium. Across the grounds, some of the best wheelchair tennis players from South Carolina did the same!
With Julie Jilly as emcee the players took center stage and played an up/down format with former Paralympic and World Cup Coach, David Crowe, an AB (able bodied) player. He was joined by Rock Hill’s Rolling Racquets wheelchair players; David Rogers, Taylor Wingate, and David Williams.
JayZee Van der Mije who leads the Cardio Tennis program at the Family Circle Tennis Center was another AB player. The current #50 WTA Player, Gaby Dabrowksi added to the action when arrived. Gaby played Up/down and then she tried out a chair during the clinic. Onlookers were invited to join in and give wheelchair tennis a try.
