Lowcountry Youth to Participate in 2019 US Open
Youth in the Lowcountry have been selected to participate in an On-Court Demonstration at the US Open in New York City this August.
On Wednesday, August 28 at 10:45am, coaches April Gift and Mehdi El-Kheddiwi will escort 24 Junior Team Tennis players as they participate in a once in a lifetime opportunity.
“The children attending will have the experience of being on a big stadium court. These are the same courts that the tennis greats play on. They will get to see professional players in-person. This is an experience some of them may never have otherwise. It is an honor to be chosen,” said Gift.

Participants will receive commemorative credentials to the US Open, a shirt, and a day pass for one parent/chaperone.

Leah Friedman, USTA National Manager of Net Generation said, “We are excited to welcome Net Generation providers and their players from around the country to participate in the Net Generation On-Court Experience at the US Open. April Gift has dedicated herself to growing the game and bringing the sport of a lifetime to many in the Lowcountry.  Participants and their families will enjoy a day at the US Open while creating memories that will last a lifetime."
If you are interested in joining this group (space is limited, must be a current JTT player), or if you would like to assist financially, please contact April Gift at (803) 951-0980, or
