The process of awarding programs and/or coaches’ incentive money for player participation in USA Team Tennis has changed dramatically.  In the past, players were registered and some time later the coach would receive an incentive check in the mail.  Incentive payments were never meant as a permanent feature of USA Team Tennis.  In all likelihood future grants will be further reduced if not completely eliminated.  As such, the USTA South Carolina has developed for 2004 a Restricted Grant as a temporary replacement to USA Team Tennis incentive funding.  USTA South Carolina has allotted $9600 to fund USA Team Tennis Youth Restricted Grants in 2004.  Restricted Grants provide program support in the following 3 areas:

  1. New program development
  2. Growth reward for programs operating 2003 & 2004 seasons
  3. Marketing

New program development grants will be awarded on a first come first served basis while funds last.  Growth rewards for programs operating in 2003 & 2004 will be processed automatically in November.  Grants seeking marketing funds will be accepted at one of three times during the year, May 14th, July 16th and September 24, 2004.
